Creating art together is a lot like building a relationship from the ground up. It takes trust; it takes heart. This can be an intimate and laughter-filled experience if you let it. Having your photo taken should be fun. This is a fundamental principle that guides almost everything I do in this work.
Don’t worry about being awkward in front of the camera or about never having been in front of a camera at all. The vast majority of my clients haven’t been in front of a camera since their senior photos. You are not alone. It’s my job to make this easy for you.
I take a slow, artistic approach to posing clients and a documentarian approach to capturing memories. This intersection is where I thrive. Creating a group of photos that feels like a tangible memory and couple’s portraits that make you feel like the most badass versions of yourselves.

☆ i take on a select number of weddings per year, usually around 10. what draws me to weddings is the community surrounding the humans professing their love to one another. i love a wedding that feels like a dinner party, a run away to the courthouse in our sneakers wedding, an intimate moment with the humans you love and adore. this means the smaller the better, and i am always down for last-minute elopments.

☆ if you’re in minnesota, iowa, or wisconsin? it can mean the very same day up to a week out. if you are farther than that we would need about 5-7 days to get everything together and i’m yours. i love spontaneity, so these are my FAVORITE weddings.

☆ generally speaking, i shoot 70% film for my wedding shoots, and i bring along a digital camera and use it about ~30% at weddings, depending. that said, the film to digital ratio is something i talk to my clients about and customize to what fits their ideal experience for their day.
☆ when hiring a film photographer, you are accepting that this process will be slower and more intentional. i take a documentarian approach to weddings or "fly on the wall." film lends well to this because it feels like a memory the moment you see it.
☆ after your wedding, you will receive all your photos 4-6 weeks after your ceremony date via a private, online digital gallery link - where you will be able to view, download and share all your images.
